KUCHING: iCube Innovation Sdn Bhd and Segi College Sarawak yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) which makes the university the latest partner joining the effort to create more entrepreneurs among youth in Sarawak.
The memorandum was signed between iCube Innovation’s founder cum Chairman Datuk Patrick Liew and Segi College Sarawak principal Doreen D’orville.
Present to witness the signing ceremony was Demak Laut assemblyman Dr Hazland Abang Hipni.
“The MoU outlined the two parties’ initiatives to work together and laid out the plan of collaborations between iCube with Segi College Sarawak.
“iCube will provide a platform for co-incubation and open collaboration opportunities with their partners — to provide expanded access to relevant information and potential opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs.
“iCube will also provide a platform for young entrepreneurs to cultivate and innovate new ideas,” he said.
He was reading Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Assistant Minister Datuk Len Talif Salleh’s text speech during the signing ceremony which took place at iCube Innovation, Icom Square here.
He further stated that the partnership would extend to workshops, training, talks, seminars and similar events related to entrepreneurship grooming, e-commerce development, business coaching, leadership building and more.
“Such collaborations are very much encouraged as we cannot do it all on our own. Every entity has its specific expertise which, when shared, would help produce much greater results compared to when one entity labours on its own,” he said.
Also present were iCube Innovation Sdn Bhd director Melvin Liew and Segi College Sarawak deputy principal (Academic) Dr Susie Lau.
