KUCHING: The first ever Sarawak Design Week (SDW) was well received by youth, especially students of local institutions, here.

They said it had inspired them to venture into the industry in the future.

Four students from Segi College Sarawak and a new student from the SayD’SignerSarawak programme, who were present at the event held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) yesterday, hereby shared their views on the event:

CORRIE ALIAU, 20, (Student)

The furniture designs exhibited at the event are very interesting and inspires students, especially in the field of design, to venture into this field. It also motivates them to come out with more creative and interesting furniture designs.

AINA HUDA HASANI, 23 (Student)

SDW inspires me to do my best in the field of design. After listening to the presentations from experienced people, I am more enthusiastic to achieve my dream of opening my own graphic design company in the future.

DANIELLA FARA WAHEEDA HARIWAN, 19, (Student)

I am more interested in graphic designs than industrial designs. But after attending SDW, I have become interested in furniture designs because all the designs shown were very interesting.

MUHAMMAD AZRY DANIAL JEFFRY, 20, (Student)

This SDW should be held again in the future as it teaches us a lot about designs and many other things. I also hope that similar programmes like this, especially for graphic designs, will also be held for us to improve skills.

MOHAMMAD NUR FATHULLAH SUHAILI, 25, (Say’D’SignerSarawak student)

SDW can further improve our knowledge on furniture designs. I hope that it can be held again in the future to highlight or introduce new designers, especially from Sarawak.
