KUCHING: The Sarawak Community Policing Association (SCPA) together with the police will be conducting a crime prevention patrol at Tabuan Jaya from 10pm to 2am today.
According to its chairman Datuk John Lau, the community-policing programme also involved distributing crime prevention leaflets to households.
“The patrol is approved by the police department, and we want to thank them for their cooperation,” he told New Sarawak Tribune, yesterday.
Lau also said they would conduct the programme at other housing areas such as Poh Kwong Park area next week.
Similarly, he said they had conducted a crime prevention walk at Lintang Park on Wednesday evening involving 15 people.
He said the programme was led by himself and ASP Will Jihem, an officer in charge of Sekama police station.
He said residents have expressed confidence in the police in maintaining order and safety in the neighbourhood, and complimented the team for its voluntary work with the police to build a safer Lintang Park.
“It is believed that there is almost zero crime cases in Lintang Park, except for a few suspicious motorcycles during the day time,” he added.
