Posa to discuss and make decisions on Sarawak players, coaches and team officials.

KUCHING: Coaches and players of Sarawak football team will know their fate by next week. Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) president Datuk Posa Majais said the fate of the coaches, players and team officials would be discussed at the special exco meeting.

Posa said at the meeting the exco members will discuss and later make a decision on the players, coaches and the team officials, on whether their contracts would be renewed or otherwise for the 2020 Malaysia League campaign.

He added that the meeting is to get the views of all the exco members and their decision on the status of the players, coaches and officials.

“Views from all exco members are important before any decision is reached,” he said.

However, he could not disclose the exact date of the meeting as he is still waiting for the final reports from
the coaches with regard to the players performance. Posa said the report is important as reference in making their decision.

“There are players I believe will be retained while there are also those whose contracts will not be renewed,” he said.

Meanwhile, Posa said the exco will also discuss the new chief coach for the senior team and the outcome of the meeting will be announced the latest by end of this month.

Sarawak finished in 11th position in this year’s Premier League, collecting only 16 points from 20 matches.

They won four matches, had four draws and recorded 12 losses. The team also crashed in the semifinals of the Challenge Cup and will play in the play-off against the M3 League first runners up, either against Kelantan United or Kuching FA to decide their fate in next year’s  Premier League.
