KUCHING: Acting head coach of Sarawak, Pengiran Bala admitted that the success of his team to deny Terengganu’s victory after they were drawn 3-3 in the final group stage games of Group D of the Malaysia Cup 2017 at the Sultan Ismail Nasirudin Shah Stadium on Saturday night as a positive development.

It’s an important benchmark for his current line-up to face the remaining three crucial matches in the Super League 2017.

“Any decision during the Saturday night match did not give any impact on us as Sarawak were already eliminated into the quarter-final round. But what’s important is, improving the performance of players,” said Pengiran.

He acknowledged that his players’ tactics during the rest period have been improved practically.

However, added Pengiran, it is necessary for him to update and improving several positions in the team.

“This Saturday (Sept 16) Sarawak will play against Pahang at the Darul Makmur Stadium for the Super League 2017 campaign. And I have to streamline some of the positions to ensure that we are down with a stronger line-up,” said Pengiran.
