KUCHING: In line with the Sarawak government’s commitment to embracing digitisation, numerous state government entities have introduced online services.
Sarawak Public Service Digitalisation Unit (SCSDU) director Grace Huong said each state government agency now maintains its own website to disseminate corporate information, outline functions, provide staff directories, and offer agency services.
According to her, it is crucial for webmasters to consistently update and display agency services on their respective websites.
“Therefore, we (state government agencies) must ensure that their websites are always up-to-date with the latest information.”
She underscored the importance of bilingual content, stating, “Content must be presented in both Malay and English, a requirement outlined by the Digital Ministry’s assessment criteria, previously managed by the Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit of Malaysia (MAMPU).”
Huong noted that MAMPU has implemented a new system called the Government Website and Service Monitoring System (SPLASK) for website assessment.
“We’ve also enhanced and designed six templates for webmasters to select from, providing flexibility in website design,” she said as per a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) report during the SCSDU Digitalisation Week Programme here on yesterday (Jan 29).
“I hope all webmasters have a valuable learning experience and utilise this opportunity to ensure that all government agency websites are equipped with the latest information and services for public access.”
The SCSDU Digitalisation Week Programme runs until Feb 2 and involves the participation of 170 civil servants from various agencies.
