SRI AMAN: The Community Service Programme (CSR) must continue to be implemented for the wellbeing of the community and those in need.
Sri Aman MP Datuk Seri Doris Sophia Brodie said the initiative is for the benefit and wellbeing of local residents while fostering a caring spirit towards those in need.
She urged agencies working with the Sri Aman Service Centre to help alleviate the burden on those in need.
She said this during an interview with the media at the opening ceremony of the CSR Home Repair Programme at Rumah Anjar Sinjor here on Tuesday (Aug 27).
Meanwhile, acting Sri Aman Resident Mahra Salleh also urged government departments and agencies, together with community leaders and village chiefs (KMKK) as well as non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to support those in need through their involvement in CSR.
He noted the importance of community programmes and expressed pride in the involvement of various parties in planning and organising programmes and activities in Simanggang.
It was reported that the CSR programme helped repair the house of Samban Damat, who suffers from vision and hearing impairments.
Improvement works were carried out by staff from the Sri Aman Resident’s Office, Radio Televisyen Malaysia Sri Aman, and the Sri Aman Service Centre over two days.
