KUCHING: A total of 100 families from three villages, namely Kampung Beradek, Kampung Semilang, and Kampung Tiang Api have received food basket donations in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan.
As part of the Yayasan Kebajikan Negara (YKN) Ramadan Kasih Programme, YKN has partnered with Sunway Group to provide corporate social responsibility to the community.
The Minister of Women, Family, and Community Development Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri was present to provide assistance to the residents and launch the program.
According to Nancy, “Sunway Group sponsored the food basket donations, amounting to RM83,000 for the asnaf families in these three villages. This food supply assistance can help ease their burden in preparing for breaking the fast and suhoor.”
She said this during the launch of the Yayasan Kebajikan Negara (YKN) Ramadan Kasih Programme in collaboration with Sunway Group in Kampung Beradek today (April 1).
In addition to handing over food baskets, the Santubong MP also donated canopies and public address (PA) system equipment to the residents of Kampung Beradek and Kampung Semilang.
The Minor Rural Projects (MRP) grant check was also presented to the committees of Kampung Beradek and Kampung Semilang, as well as to the Darul Akhirat Mosque Committee in Kampung Beradek.
Furthermore, Nancy donated dates, sarongs, and prayer mats to the village chief and village headman (KMKK), as well as to the mosque and surau committees in the area. At the same time, she urged other companies, NGOs, and individuals to donate to YKN for similar charitable causes.
