KUCHING: Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) Sarawak expressed its gratitude towards the state government for the special aid of RM500 to all federal civil servants in the state as announced in Perhimpunan Hari Penjawat Awam Negeri Sarawak last year.
Its president Ahmad Malie said the most heartfelt moment for Cuepacs Sarawak was when Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg also considered Cuepacs’ appeal to have the payment made before the scheduled month of June 2020.
“We are so thankful that the government has announced that the payment would be made in May before Hari Raya and Gawai Dayak celebrations,” he said in a statement today.
He further said most federal civil servants based in Sarawak expressed joy and gratitude for the assistance.
Cuepacs Sarawak also said such gesture is the first and the only one in the history of Malaysia to have a state government providing special assistance to federal civil servants.
He also thanked the State Federal Secretary for facilitating the payment process which enabled the recipients to enjoy the incentive as scheduled.
