KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg received a courtesy call by a delegation from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia here yesterday (Sept 20).
The courtesy call was led by Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Sulong Matjeraie, chairman of the university’s, Board of Directors, along with some key management of the university and Vice-Chancellor of Unimas, Prof Datuk Dr Kadim Suaidi.
The purpose of the visit is to convey the university’s latest developments and future plans to enhance the network of cooperation of strategic partners at the international level as well as the close cooperation between Unimas and the state government.
At the same time, he also received another courtesy call by Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Service (Cuepacs) Sarawak, led by its chairman Omar Bahrein Unin.
The main purpose of the visit was to express the appreciation and gratitude of Cuepacs to the state government, in its efforts to address the Covid -19 pandemic in Sarawak.
Apart from that, the chairman also introduced new leadership lines of Cuepacs Sarawak as well as discussed several matters related to current issues faced by civil servants.
