MIRI: Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) December intake for Foundation Studies programmes is on.

Classes will commence on Dec 2 after a two-day orientation for new students on Nov 28 and 29.

The trimester intake gives students the option to enroll in the foundation programme of their choice immediately without having to wait for the semester intake in March.

It also allows students more flexibility in terms of study periods.

Potential students who want to start their university journey sooner can opt for the December foundation intake.

The one-year foundation programme are for Engineering, Science, Commerce and Arts (Media) that feed directly into the university’s undergraduate courses in engineering and science, business and humanities.

 The foundation programmes are designed for school leavers to gain the essential skills and knowledge for a smooth transition to tertiary study, providing the best possible fundamentals to undertake a Bachelor’s degree. All are recognised by the Ministry of Education and Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

 Students who pass the Foundation Studies in Commerce can enter the Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Commerce (with both single and double majors) at its Faculty of Business, while those completing the Foundation Studies in Arts can enter the Faculty of Humanities’ Bachelor of Arts (Mass Communication) programme.

 Meanwhile, the Foundation Studies in Engineering and Foundation Studies in Science courses prepare students for undergraduate study in the Bachelor of Engineering (with Honours), Bachelor of Technology (Computer Systems and Networking) and Bachelor of Science (Applied Geology) programmes.

They also qualify to enroll in the Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts programmes.

 School leavers with outstanding results in their examinations are advised to take advantage of the Curtin Malaysia Merit Scholarships for entry into the foundation programmes.

The scholarships aim to reward academic excellence among students from all backgrounds with tuition fee waivers. Full details can be obtained at scholarships.curtin.edu.my.
