MIRI: Form Five students from SMK Dato Permaisuri had a hands-on learning experience to ignite their passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The activities organised by Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) recently featured immersive learning experiences in water engineering, including practical demonstrations of water filtration and coagulation methods.
The initiative aimed to introduce students to vital engineering concepts in an engaging and interactive manner.
During the event, Programme Coordinator of Environmental Engineering, Dr Tan Yin Ling,and a senior lecturer of civil and construction engineering, Carrie Ho Lee Ing, showcased the diverse Civil and Environmental Engineering programmes at Curtin Malaysia’s Faculty of Engineering and Science.
“Through events like this, we aim to inspire the next generation of engineers and scientists,” said a lecturer at the Department of Civil and Construction Engineering, Dr Muhammad Noor Hazwan Jusoh.
“By providing hands-on experiences and showcasing the exciting possibilities within STEM fields, we can ignite their passion for learning and innovation.”
The students also learned about various scholarship opportunities, internships, and career support services available at Curtin Malaysia.
