KUCHING: Fifteen cops took to the streets of the city last Friday as part of a community policing, initiative and engagement programme organised by the Central Police Station.

Headed by its officer-in-charge ASP Ahmad Abang, he said cyclists comprising an officer and 14 personnel patrolled eight locations, namely Jalan Gambier, Kuching Waterfront, Jalan Main Bazaar, Jalan Tabuan, Taman Westwood, Taman Sun Valley, Civic Centre and Jalan Pearl.

He pointed out that the cycling patrol was also recreational and healthy.

“Along the way, we were able to carry out the ‘Stop and Talk & Meet and Greet’ activity with the community,” he said when contacted.

Ahmad also said it was a monthly event.

“The patrol was good, traffic was under control and the community was happy with our presence,” he added.
