DALAT: All activities that involve large crowds in the Dalat area have been temporarily suspended starting from Monday.

Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said this in her statement today.

“We are taking this action due to the rapid increase in Covid-19 cases, which affected 17 residents of Dalat yesterday (11 Jan).

“Even if the cases spread in the longhouse and roadblocks have been set up, we must always stay vigilant and continue to comply with all standard operating procedures (SOPs),” she added.

Fatimah said that among the programmes postponed was the Back to School Programme organised by Pusat Khidmat DUN Dalat at Oya Square.

“Other than that,  also postponed are the general meeting of the Malaysian Islamic Welfare Organisation (Perkim) Oya / Dalat on Jan 16, business activities in Pekan Sabtu Oya, BazaarNita, and youth kiosks on Dalat’s riverbank.

“The rescheduled dates for all these activities will be announced later,” she explained.
