DALAT: Dalat Waterfront has received widespread praise on social media, emerging as an icon here due to its distinctive features.

Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah praised the riverbank’s alignment with Dalat’s slogan, ‘Berakar Rumbia, Berinti Budaya’.

“The construction concept, symbolising the rumbia tree with its trunk and fronds, has captured public attention. Additionally, the inclusion of a roof makes Dalat Waterfront a convenient space for residents to engage in activities without worrying about the weather.”

Fatimah made these remarks during the Program Santai Krismas at Dalat Waterfront on Wednesday (Dec 27). Elaborating further, she noted the waterfront’s function in safeguarding against erosion.

“Moreover, it serves as a venue for social activities, transcending religion, ethnicity, or age. It provides a space for everyone to gather and participate in activities together.

“Furthermore, it fosters knowledge sharing through exhibitions, charity activities, and community events, unveiling the talents of the area’s young people. Simultaneously, it promotes economic activities for the surrounding residents through the provision of kiosks.”

Fatimah also stressed the importance of respecting one another despite differences in religion, ethnicity, and age, as the festive season approaches.
