BINTULU: Consumers at the SSGP Bintulu Operation Centre, Sg. Similajau Raw Water Intake and the Samalaju Water Treatment Plant may experience temporary water supply disruptions due to a damaged water main.

LAKU Management Sdn Bhd, in a statement on Thursday (Feb 22) said the treated water pumping main was accidentally damaged by a trailer.

The water supply company said the damaged water main provided treated water to the KINDA 2 Area, SSGP Bintulu Operation Centre, Sg. Similajau Raw Water Intake and acted as back-up for the Samalaju Water Treatment Plant.

However, it assured that consumers in the KINDA 2 area that their water supplies should remain unaffected.

In response, the company’s maintenance team is actively engaged in repairing the damaged mains to mitigate further disruptions.

“Our team will swiftly close the isolation valve after the interconnection point for KINDA 2 to prevent any disruption.

“Our maintenance department is already on the ground, prioritising and initiating repair work to minimise the duration of the disruption.
