BAU: Over 1,000 bubur lambuk packets were distributed to residents from Kampung Bukit Pancur, here on Sunday (Apr 9).

The Junior Chamber International (JCI) Damai said the distribution programme was held together with Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang.

Village chief Mortadza Buang represented his villagers in receiving the savoury porridge.

“In the morning, JCI Damai and the villagers start cooking the porridge together with the objective of learning different races and culture as well.

“Bubur lambuk is the symbolic born of goodwill, true to the spirit of Ramadan and it is usually one of the Muslim tradition to hand it out to the less fortunate family,”it said.

For the record, JCI is a global leadership development organisation for young active citizen aged 18 to 40 years old.

Its vision is to provide leadership development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change.
