SIBU: Democratic Action Party (DAP) candidates for Sibu and Lanang, Oscar Ling and Alice Lau have retained their seats and will serve their third terms respectively.
Oscar Ling won the Sibu parliamentary seat with a majority of 7,760 votes.
He garnered a total of 31,287 votes to beat Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s (GPS) Clarence Ting Ing Horh who garnered 23,527 votes and Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) president Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh with just 11,128 votes.
As for the Lanang parliamentary seat, Alice Lau won with a majority of 11,544 votes.
She garnered a total of 30,120 votes and defeated her opponent GPS Wong Ching Yong who managed to get 18,576 votes.
Meanwhile, PSB’s Priscilla Lau and Independent candidiate Datuk Wong Tiing Kiong lost their deposits, after garnering 3,663 votes and 587 votes respectively.
