KUCHING: A total of 414 students who performed well in the SPM exam last year were rewarded by the Democratic Action Party (DAP) here yesterday (June 15).

The awards were given by the party’s Bandar Kuching and Stampin offices.

Bandar Kuching MP Dr. Kelvin Yii said this marks the third consecutive year the DAP offices have given the SPM Award.

He said the award serves as a means of encouragement for students, urging them to persist in their pursuit of academic excellence.

“Since the launch of the programme, the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

“However, what is more important is building good values and character as the foundation to succeed in the future. We may score well in our exams, but what will make you successful is good character and attitude.

“I strongly believe in young people, and I believe they are also can be the leaders of today. To do that, I challenge them to be the best version of themselves, build values, dream big, dig deep, and last long,” he said.
