KUCHING: Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak came to the aid of fire victims at Rumah Augustine, Kampung Gran Limu, Sri Aman yesterday when DAP Vice Chairman Leon Jimat Donald sent aid in the form of over 40 boxes of mineral water, rice and dry food items.
Together with the entourage, Leon went to the site with DAP Sri Aman Deputy Chairman Bennet Empi, PKR member Yen Jebeni and PKR Sri Aman and Batang Lupar AMK chiefs Lawrence Temba and Baharudin Karim.
In a short speech, Leon said the Pakatan Rakyat Federal Government is ever sensitive to the people’s needs. He also said that Chong Chieng Jen, the Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, usually personally delivers some financial aid to the longhouse folks, to help them in their time of need.
He said Chong will pay a visit to Rumah Romeo Serit, Kampung Munggu Demam on this Friday 21 September.
