KUALA LUMPUR: DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said yesterday he will lodge a police report against PAS treasurer Razman Zakaria for allegedly accusing the DAP of having insulted the Malay Rulers on the award of honours.

Lim, who is the Finance Minister, said Razman has twisted his remarks against DAP members who have received awards and medals as an insult against the institution of the monarchy.

“I only advised the DAP members not to clamour for titles but this has been assumed as an act against the Rulers and Malays.

“For example, when the Melaka Chief Minister (Adly Zahari) did not receive any award, why did the executive councillors get the awards? It should not have happened,” he said to reporters at the Parliament lobby.

A news portal reported that Razman, who is also the Perak PAS commissioner, hit out at the DAP action of allegedly refusing to accept awards and medals from the palace, claiming it is an insult by the party against the Malay Rulers.
