PETALING JAYA: National striker Darren Lok is determined to continue his scoring streak and help Malaysia beat Kyrgyzstan during their 2026 World Cup/2027 Asian Cup Qualifiers Group D match this Thursday.

“Of course, that’s what I want, it’s been going well at the club level, managing to score a lot in the AFC Cup, which is good.

“But now I’m here with the national team, my focus is obviously to score here, that’s very important and that’s my job as a striker, so of course, I come here to give my best,” he said when met at the national squad training session at Wisma FAM in Kelana Jaya here yesterday.

The 33-year-old footballer has scored twice with the national squad this year, one against Singapore in the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Cup last January and the other against Syria in an international friendly last September, while raking up six goals in the Super League and one in the Malaysia Cup with his club this year.
