KUCHING: Darul Ehsan Mosque in Kampung Haji Baki here is temporarily closed to the public until Nov 7.
This was the latest instruction issued by the Sarawak Islamic Council (SIC) in a statement last Saturday (Oct 24) in view of a new Covid-19 cluster, dubbed ‘Baki Cluster’, which was identified by the Health Ministry.
According to SIC, all activities at the mosque including the Friday and daily prayers will be temporarily suspended.
Mosque-goers (ahli kariah) are also advised not to visit the mosque in order to curb the spread of Covid-19.
SIC also said that no one is allowed to enter the mosque during the period mentioned, except those who are on duty to recite the azan (prayer).
