KUCHING: The Darul Hana Musical Fountain, inspired by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg was officially launched last Sunday. Its launching ceremony was graced by the Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud and wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Hajjah Ragad Kurdi Taib. Abang Johari was also present.
Located in front of the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) and opposite of the Waterfront Square Tower, the musical fountain will become a vital part tourist attraction in Kuching City.
“This is out of the box thing that can be one of the icons in Kuching. There will many tourism attractions to be accomplished which will beautify Kuching city, “The launching of this fountain is also held in conjunction with Tun Pehin Sri Taib’s birthday, and we would like to say thank you for his leadership which has led to many developments in Sarawak especially in the tourism sector,” said Johari in his speech.
Operation hours are 8.30PM and 10.00PM daily with 15 minutes for every fountain show. The musical fountain is operated using the latest technology with 100 metres of Pontoon. A hundred of nozzles which are able to fount as high as 25 metres from Sarawak River were arranged on top of the pontoon.
It is also equipped with unique details whereby the waterwall is nine metre in height and is 80 metre-long which functions as the background of the fountain.
The water at the water-wall is designated with the special tile which will be giving a special nature touch for the musical fountain. This musical fountain is able to move and dance following the song melody matched with the special sound effect and colourful lighting system that is suitable with future occasions.
With the uniqueness, added with beautiful and attractive landscapes, the musical fountain will be more outstanding and be part of the beautiful landmark in Kuching City.
