SIMANGGANG: The rhythmic prowess of Datus United was on full display as they secured a resounding 4-0 victory over the Rimong Croc United in the SSC-FAS Under20 Football League competition at the Sri Aman Division level, held at the Sri Aman Sports Complex.
All four goals for Datus United were orchestrated by Mark Melvyn Marcos, who found the back of the net in the 26th minute, followed by Awangku Asmirzan Awang Safri in the 36th minute, Maxmellan Bong in the 47th minute, and Mcclyeon Joe Joseph Goyang sealing the victory in the 86th minute.
Datus United Coach Abang Mohamad Jeffery Abang Mohamad Ariff lauded the players’ exceptional performance throughout the match, emphasising that their victory was well-deserved. Nevertheless, Jeffery hoped that the resounding victory achieved by his squad would serve as a catalyst and a tonic for the upcoming duels.
“We have two forthcoming matches, and in football, the unexpected can transpire. We will maintain our focus, addressing each challenge one step at a time.”
“Of paramount importance is our imminent showdown against England FC this evening (Sunday, August 13). I am confident that our players are prepared to face this formidable adversary, especially after their victory in the previous week,” he added.
Meanwhile, the unfolding Sunday schedule will witness two intriguing clashes. Merpati FC is set to engage in a showdown with Rimong Croc United at 8.30 am, followed by Datus United’s encounter with England FC at 4.00 pm.
