KUCHING: Sarawak recorded no new positive Covid-19 cases today (3 July) for the fifth consecutive day, with the total number of positive cases in the state still at 571.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in a statement, said that there was one new recovery case and had been discharged from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).
With this, the total number of positive Covid-19 cases which had recovered and discharged is 545 or 95.45 percent.
A total of nine individuals are still undergoing treatment at the hospital isolation wards.
Of these, four are at SGH in Kuching, one at Sibu Hospital, and four at Bintulu Hospital.
Twenty-two new person-under-investigation (PUI) cases have been reported, and two cases are still awaiting laboratory results.
As of yesterday, a total of 98 person-under-surveillance (PUS) cases had been checked into the designated hotels to undergo quarantine, bringing the total number of PUS at 13 hotels to 837.
A total of 17,275 PUS had completed their quarantine period.
The Covid-19 death toll remains at 17 since the first positive case was reported on March 13.
On the compliance with the directives under the recovery movement control order, SDMC said a total of 1,869 premises were surveyed yesterday , consisting of supermarkets (220), restaurants (369), factories (23), banks (145), government offices (74), hawkers (42), public markets (92), places of worship (99), recreational places (62), construction sites (39), and others (704).
