KUCHING: Sarawak did not record any new cases of Covid-19 for the second day running.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the total number of cases remained at 696, since the last five cases were detected on Aug 5.
SDMC revealed that there were also no new recovery cases, with the number remaining at 662 or 95.11 per cent.
“A total of 15 people are still receiving treatment at hospital isolation wards. Nine cases are being treated at Bintulu Hospital, four cases at Sarawak General Hospital, and one each at Sibu and Miri hospitals.
“The death toll remains at 19 or 2.73 percent.”
Thirteen new persons-under-investigation (PUI) were reported while two were awaiting laboratory test results, it added.
SDMC said that 128 new persons-under-surveillance (PUS) had been checked into hotels to undergo quarantine.
This brings the current number of PUS at 14 hotels to 968, while 22,403 PUS had completed their quarantine.
