KUCHING: Dayang Nur Alia Sharmiela continued her impressive form in the women’s singles lawn bowls, securing another victory in Group J this morning.
She outplayed her opponent from Perak, Siti Noor Aisyah Abdul Aziz, with a decisive 21-13 win.
In the men’s pairs, the Sarawak team, featuring Mohammad Aryan Nazrullah Nazaruddin and Muhammad Ramadhan Mohammad Jeffy, also dominated their match, defeating the Perak duo 17-4.
However, after a strong showing yesterday, the Sarawak SUKMA lawn bowls team faced some setbacks today.
The men’s triples team and the women’s fours team both suffered defeats in their morning matches.
Sharszan Fyirman Awang Nasaruddin, Iskandar Hasbi, and Mohamad Amsyar Mohamad Amelin, in men’s triples, lost two matches this morning, falling to Melaka 10-19 and Terengganu 12-15.
The women’s fours, consisting of Haspina Mazlan, Mya Zara Amir, Nur Hidayah Faizal, Nur Syurhaidah Asaral, Syasya Mastunina Sawani Morshidi, narrowly lost to Perak, with a close score of 9-11.
As of now, the third and fourth sessions for the women’s singles, men’s doubles, men’s triples, and women’s fours categories are underway at the Sarawak Lawn Bowls Arena.
