SIBU: Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) Sarawak Branch welcomes the organising of the colloquium of the Dictionary of Melanau Matu Daro and Pulau Bruit.
Speaking at the opening of the colloquium in Kuching recently, its director Haliza Jamaluddin said such move would make Sarawak a leading player in the preservation of native treasures.
She said DBP Sarawak Branch would help to realise the wishes of the organisers to publish the dictionary by providing all the expertise available.
“We are proud to help various government and private agencies preserve various native treasures, especially indigenous languages that are being threatened.
“We must continue to ensure that the heritage of this nation continues to be appreciated,” said Halizaalih.
