KUCHING: Dayak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has urged the relevant authorities to engage with the Dayak business community on the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.

DCCI secretary-general Libat Langub said this after an annual general meeting (AGM) held last Saturday (Aug 20) here.

According to Libat, Sarawak had committed RM63bil for the implementation of PCDS 2030, which would see the state’s economy double in size within 10 years.

The plan, he added, would be driven by data and innovation and would ensure that everyone lived in an environment that is sustainable, prosperous, and inclusive. The Premier recently announced an increase of RM100bil.

“It was resolved that DCCI members should strive to participate in PCDS 2030 and take advantage of the business opportunities offered thereunder.

“This is because it is comprehensive and inclusive where all sectors of society, economy and industry will be involved and will be expected to benefit from its implementation,” he said.

The members are also urged to participate in PCDS 2030’s strategic plans, especially those related to the commercial agriculture, tourism, and agroforestry industries.

“Under the various programmes, it is hoped that they will succeed and be able to maintain and advance their level of social and economic growth.”

DCCI thanked the state government for providing funding under the Bumiputera Business Recovery Fund for the Homestay Operations and Management Training Programme, Digital Marketing, and Fertigation Technology Courses that are currently being offered to Dayak entrepreneurs.

In a related development, it was disclosed that the DCCI and DCF towers would be completed by the end of the year.

More than 60 DCCI members attended the AGM physically and virtually.
