SIBU: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan contributed RM10,000 to the Federation of Sarawak Journalists Association (FSJA) Sibu on Wednesday afternoon in support of the Kenyalang Journalism Awards (KJA) 2019.
Sibu will be hosting this year’s journalism awards, which is expected to be held this November.
Kuching Division Journalists Association (KDJA) members Lee Pei Tze and Tay Ya Hui received the cheque at Awang Tengah’s office on behalf of FSJA Sibu.
FSJA president Hii Hong Wee thanked the deputy chief minister for the allocation.
“It will definitely lessen the burden for us financially to ensure that this year’s event is successful,” he said and hoped that more ministers will step forward with contributions.
