PADAWAN: A man has died in an alleged brawl that occurred at a farm in Jalan Landeh here.
The farm owner has been implicated in the death of the man, identified as Mohd Alias Abdullah.
The deceased’s body was found at the farm by police yesterday, following a report lodged by the wife of the farm owner.
It is believed that the alleged brawl happened on Wednesday (June 3) when the 57-year-old deceased was alleged to have assaulted the farm owner.
The farm owner, aged 54, claimed that the deceased attacked him with a machete, before he hit his attacker with the said machete and took off.
“When he (farm owner) returned to his home not far from the scene around 6pm, he quickly informed his wife, who then sought help from neighbours to send him to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH),” Padawan OCPD Supt Aidil Bolhassan said, adding that the farm owner suffered injuries to his head and left shoulder.
Supt Aidil noted that several items belonging to the deceased were found at the scene, such as helmet, scissors, phone, slippers, gloves, spanner as well as a gold bracelet believed to belong to the farm owner.
“The body was then sent to the SGH morgue for further action. Identification of the deceased by his heir was carried out,” he added.
Supt Aidil said during questioning, the farm owner had yet to give a reason for what triggered the deadly incident.
Investigations are still ongoing, and the farm owner is being remanded under Sections 324 and 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
