MIRI: Two rural transformation projects (RTPs) under Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew are slated for completion in December this year.

These include work to upgrade and improve facilities at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) and Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan (SK) Lutong.

The constructions with estimated cost totalling RM220 000, are expected to begin around August this year, said Ting who is also Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts on Monday during his visit to both schools.

“Under my RTP for 2022, I have allocated an amount of RM 100, 000 to help improve SMK Lutong facilities, “ he said, adding that the Public Works Department (PWD better known as JKR ) will help to come out with the drawings and plan.

“We hope every project can be completed according to schedule,” he said.

Meanwhile, for SK Lutong, its current assembly hall would be upgraded with an estimated cost of RM120,000.
