KUCHNG: State Reform Party Sarawak (STAR) is reminding Sarawakians to think carefully on whom to vote for the coming state election.
“My message to Sarawakians is be wise with our choices. Always have Sarawak in our heart and face the new year with confidence, hope and unity,” said its president Lina Soo in her New Year wish.
She added that the year 2020 would be the year of ‘Living Dangerously’ for Sarawak as national politics mired in race and religion. “Sarawak is at the crossroads with the state election looming to determine the incoming state government for the next five years.
“Sarawakians have to make a choice through the ballot box soon. Whether Sarawak will be empowered to chart our own destiny, or remain in a situation where we will continue to be subjugated to federal rule which decides for us how our resources ― oil and gas ― will be spent.”
She pointed out that Sarawak is on the edge of the precipice, with the incoming year is make or break for Sarawakians, to be a stronger or weakened nation.
“Let’s pray that the year 2020 will be a good one for Sarawak,” she said.
