Declining trend in COVID-19 cases and admission rates

The 23rd Epidemiological Week (EW 23/2023), spanning from June 4, 2023, to June 10, 2023, saw a sustained decrease in COVID-19 cases.

The Health Health (MOH) reported that there were 3,814 cases recorded, reflecting a 15.7 percent decline compared to the previous week (EW 22/2023) with 4,523 cases.

Furthermore, the admission rate of COVID-19 patients, including those suspected of being infected, to public healthcare facilities has decreased from 4.4 to 3.8 per 100,000 population.

In terms of hospital bed occupancy, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) bed utilisation has dropped by three percent, and the occupancy of non-critical COVID-19 beds has decreased by one percent during EW 23/2023, as compared to EW 22/2023.
