KUCHING : Police found a badly decomposed body in an abandoned house at Mile 4, Jalan Penrissen today (23 June).

Padawan District Police Chief Supt Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said police from the Sentosa police station rushed to the location after passers-by complained of stench from the house at around 7.10 am.

When police arrived at the house around 8.30 am, they found the body of a man dressed in a collared T-shirt and shorts lying on the staircase of the house.

Judging from the advanced state of decomposition, the body was believed to have been left at the abandoned house for more than a month.

“The victim also had a tattoo on the right side of his hand.

“There was no identification on the body. However, there were blood stains found in the toilet of the house ,” said Abang Zainal Abidin.

Further investigations revealed the house had been left abandoned for three years and that the previous tenant of the house was a scrap dealer.
