KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud received a visit from the 2021 Sarawak Tilawah Al-Quran committee, led by Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Islamic Affairs and DBKU) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi today.

The delegation included Sarawak Islamic Council president Datuk Misnu Taha, state mufti Datu Kipli Yassin and Sarawak Islamic Department director Khalid Ibrahim.

The visit was to invite Taib and his wife Datuk Patinggi Toh Puan Ragad Kurdi Taib to the Al-Quran recital competition on April 19.

This year’s competition will see 30 participants (Qari and Qariah) from all across Sarawak challenging for honours.

A similar invitation was also extended to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang.
