KUCHING: A food delivery employee’s wish to fulfill his task was crushed after he was involved in an accident at the traffic lights in front of CityOne Megamall on Monday night.

The 25-year-old, who is working with Foodpanda, told that the accident occurred while he was on his way from Petronas Tun Jugah heading to CityOne to pick up an order from a shop at 8.30pm.

He added that the accident was caused by the driver of a hatchback who ran a red light from the Airport Road to Jalan Song.

“I was on my way and the car sped up after the traffic light had turned red.

“It happened after I entered the yellow box. The driver came from the other side and knocked the right side of my motorcycle,” he said, adding that he was lucky to end up with light injuries.

“My right leg was swollen and bleeding. Luckily, there were no other vehicles passing by when the accident happened,” said the motorcyclist.

A police report has been lodged at the Kuching District Police headquarters for further actions.
