PUSA: The Sarawak Department of Social Welfare (JKM) is urged to enhance its assistance to a disabled, Nur Aisyah Fitriya Husnina Mahda.

Deputy Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Well-being Development Datuk Mohamad Razi Sitam stated this after providing aid to the child in Kampung Tengah Pusa.

He expressed his deep sympathy upon seeing the condition of the eight-year-old child.

“We deeply sympathise. Her daily affairs are all taken care of by her mother and other siblings.

“I was informed that she needs over RM200 every month for milk expenses alone, not to mention other necessities.

“I appeal to the Betong Division Social Welfare Office (PKMB) to increase its assistance for Nur Aisyah,” he said today.

Currently, the child receives a monthly assistance of RM200.

“This may need to be increased considering the heavy burden on her parents and other siblings who are still in school.

“Her father is a fisherman while her mother is a full-time homemaker. I believe the monthly assistance should be raised,” he said.
