SIBU: Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s vision for a prosperous and developed Sarawak since 2017 has played a pivotal role in the state’s current status, says Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee.
The Deputy Public Health, Housing, and Local Government Minister said Abang Johari’s courage and wisdom successfully guided the state through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, while also attaining both political and financial independence.
“With your leadership, we stand firm on our commitment to reclaim our rights and status under MA63 (Malaysia Agreement 1963). For the first time in 60 years of forming the Federation of Malaysia, MA63 was finally enshrined into our Constitution,” he said.
He said this in a recent Facebook post, commemorating Abang Johari’s 7th anniversary in office.
Tiang further acknowledged that under Abang Johari’s guidance, Sarawak is making strides toward establishing itself in the green economy and implementing climate change actions.
“May God bless you and keep you always,” he added.
Today (Jan 13) marks the 7th anniversary of Abang Johari’s tenure as the 6th Premier of Sarawak.
Throughout these seven years, Abang Johari has spearheaded various development plans, with ongoing efforts aimed at elevating Sarawak to high-income status by 2030.
