LIMBANG: Youths are an important asset that will become leaders and heirs to Sarawak in the future.
According to Deputy Minister for Transport, Datuk Hasbi Habibollah, the organisation and proactive involvement of youths in community activities, including sports, is strongly supported.
“This is because these youths will lead the future of Sarawak.
“In addition, education, skills and experience in organising these activities can be a medium as a learning process.”
He said this at the opening ceremony of the Datuk Hasbi Habibollah Cup futsal competition at the Sarawak United National Youth Organisation (Saberkas) Batu Danau Branch futsal court here recently.
He added that the organisation of the programme can strengthen the relationship between youth from various villages, districts and different parts.
“This indirectly helps foster the spirit of unity and cooperation between various races and religions.
“I hope that the youths will always maintain the unity and cooperation that exists at this time to ensure that the blessings of harmony, safety and security can be enjoyed.”
During the event, Batu Danau assemblyman Paulus Palu Gumbang appealed to Hasbi for support in allocating facilities for the Saberkas futsal court, including lighting facilities.
A total of 12 teams participated in the futsal competition which featured local youths from Limbang District.
Also present were Limbang Resident representative Cherylynna Leeza Roland, Limbang District Council deputy walikota Councillor Adisson Langgar Injan and Bisaya community leader Pemanca Jun Sillah.
