KUCHING: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan attended a meeting between the Malaysian delegation and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce in Jakarta on Saturday.
According to a statement, among the issues discussed were the issue of crossing the border between Sarawak and Kalimantan; the normalisation of trade on the border between Sarawak and Kalimantan; issues on environmental conservation and the importance of upgrading roads to enhance population mobility between the two regions.
At the same time, Awang Tengah also stated that he welcomed more business cooperation between Kalimantan and Sarawak.
The meeting was also attended by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs) Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Johnity @ Maximus Ongkili; Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy) Datuk Seri Mustapha Mohamed; BIMP-EAGA Special Envoy Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia; Sabah Minister of Industrial Development Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam.
On the same day, Awang Tengah and his delegation also attended a meeting with Nusantara Capital Authority’s deputy head Dhony Rahajoe.
