KUCHING: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian heads a list of 149 recipients of Sarawak state honours, conferred by the Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Ja’afar at the Astana Negeri Sarawak today (Aug 15).
Dr Sim, who is also the Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government, was the sole recipient of the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak, Datuk Amar Bintang Kenyalang (D.A.), which bestows the title of ‘Datuk Amar.’
Among the other notable recipients, Temenggong Datuk Nunong Dandan was awarded the Panglima Setia Bintang Sarawak (P.S.B.S), and Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, the Tupong assemblyman, received the Johan Bintang Kenyalang (J.B.K).
The Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (P.B.S) honour was given to nine individuals, while 23 recipients were recognised with the Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (P.B.K).
In the Public Administration Medal category, 19 people received the Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (P.P.B), 21 were awarded the Ahli Bintang Sarawak (A.B.S), and 18 received the Pingat Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (A.B.K).
The Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (P.P.T) went to 29 individuals, and 27 were honoured with the Pingat Bentara Bintang Sarawak (B.B.S).
The event was also attended by Wan Junaidi’s wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, Dr Sim’s wife Datin Amar Enn Ong Siok Ean, Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department Datuk Seri John Sikie Tayai, and Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni.
