KUCHING: Architects, designers, and art enthusiasts will soon gather at the PAMSC Design Festival (PDF), slated for November 13-18.

The festival, hosted by the Malaysian Institute of Architects’ Sarawak Chapter, promises a week filled with creativity and community engagement, marking its first large-scale event since the pandemic.

It is expected to draw bigger crowds this year including visitors from different parts of Malaysia, is a showcase of design excellence and cultural fusion. Events will span across six days at the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Community Hall.

The spotlight will shine on the ‘Cloud Pavilion,’ an urban art installation at the MBKS Palmarium Park, free for all to enjoy from November 17-18, coinciding with World Architecture Day celebrations.

The event’s organising chairperson, Wee Hii Min, said this year’s pavilion, evolved from last year’s Moon Pavilion, serves as the stage for vibrant activities including art markets and workshops by the Sarawak Creative Arts & Cultural Association (SCACA).
