land into a developed and high -income state before 2030.
“In Sarawak, we have been actively strengthening the digital economy network in urban and rural areas since 2017.
“Looking at these needs and demands, the Sarawak government is working to develop high -speed internet infrastructure to support Sarawak’s Digital Economy. Today, we need to move fast to remain relevant to current needs.
He said this while speaking at the 25th UNIMAS Convocation Ceremony at Dewan Tunku Abdul Rahman (DeTAR), yesterday (Feb 16).
He added that UNIMAS is also involved with the state government’s efforts to help the rural community enjoy basic facilities such as the Micro Hydro Electric Project in several villages in the rural area of Sarawak.
He stressed that he hoped the project could be continued in other rural areas for the benefit of the people before the electricity project could be fixed to the area.
Uggah added that the Sarawak government is still actively pursuing various initiatives to provide the best service to the people.
He also believed that even a pandemic situation like this did not break the state government’s efforts to remain vigilant in implementing all the well -planned plans.
