SIBU: Sibu Jaya master developer Distrepark Sdn Bhd (Distrepark) came calling at the local branch of Lembaga Kebajikan Anak Anak Yatim Sarawak (Peryatim) with Raya goodies on Friday.
On hand to receive the Raya goodies was Najilanisa Suhaili, who manages the centre.
She said the centre requires all the assistance it could secure and was heartened to see the Sibu Jaya developer coming back again this year.
Last year the developer partnered with SugarBun Sibu Jaya in organising a breaking of fast for the children at Peryatim and spending time mingling with the children.
“We hope that the people of Sibu and other corporate citizens would also step forward and lend a helping hand to these children,” she said.
This year, Distrepark worked with Doremon Supermarket in Sibu Jaya to bring food stuff to the underprivileged children.
According to Distrepark’s senior executive Agatha Ting, the business community in Sibu Jaya had been very responsive to sharing and caring events.
“From blood donation to sharing festive joy with underprivileged children, and from joining us in events to sponsoring certain activities for school children in Sibu Jaya, we are always assured of their support,” she said.
Ting also said that during some fun events such as the Sibu Jaya Water Fiesta, underprivileged children were treated to lunches and given water cannons and water pistols to play with.
