THE double storey terrace and double storey semi-detached housing projects developed by Tiara Seni Sdn Bhd are expected to be handed over to the purchasers by next year.
Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Michael Tiang said that during the Housing Project Technical Monitoring Committee (JKTP) meeting recently, the developer had committed to handover the houses to the purchasers.
“During the meeting on Oct 17, concerning Lots 6256 and 6258 in Block 32 of the Kemena Land District, developed by Tiara Seni Sdn Bhd, key stakeholders were brought together, including representatives from the Sewerage Services Department Sarawak (SSD), Land and Survey Department, Bintulu Development Authority (BDA), the developer, and representatives of the affected home purchasers.
“In this meeting, it was unanimously agreed that the developer should proceed with the sewerage rectification works as recommended by the SSD to uphold public health standards, environmental protection and the overall well-being of the community.
“Additionally, the developer will apply for the Road Certificate and Occupation Permit from BDA. This agreement is crucial for expediting the handover of the units to the purchasers,” he said.
He was replying to Johnny Pang (GPS-Tanjong Batu) who asked the latest measures taken to solve the issue of the critically sick project of Tiara Seni and Golden Hill Villa 3 in Bintulu during the question-and-answer session on Wednesday.
Tiang further said the Ministry has undertaken multiple site visits and engaged with BDA as well as private developers regarding the projects, to gain a comprehensive understanding of the issues at hand.
“With regards to Lot 1713, Block 12 Kemena Land District, also known as Golden Hill Villa 3, the Ministry’s Task Force team has engaged with both the developer and BDA.
“The dispute between the developer and the landowner of the adjacent land remains unresolved,” he said.
He therefore said the developer must address this land matter promptly and to consider alternative measures to ensure the successful delivery of the project to the respective home purchasers.
“Having said that, the Ministry will closely monitor the situation’s progress,” he said.
In a supplementary question, Pang asked how the Ministry plans to engage with relevant parties regarding the Golden Hill Villa 3 project.
In response, Tiang said the Ministry will continue to engage with relevant parties by initiating discussions and exploring mediation options with both the developer and the landowner of the adjoining land.
“This approach aims to gain a clearer understanding of their respective positions and identify a way forward for the project.
“Additionally, the Ministry will convene a JKTP meeting involving the relevant authorities, to gather insights and discuss collaborative solutions that will help advance the project,” said Tiang.
