SIBU: The Lions Club of Sibu Pahlawan (LCSP) organised a Youth Peace Poster Contest at Wong Nai Siong Secondary School (WNSSS) here today (Sept 27) aimed at promoting peace and international understanding among the younger generation.
The competition drew enthusiastic participation from talented artistic students.
In addition to the contest, a health screening session was also held for teachers, where they had the opportunity to check their blood pressure and blood sugar levels.
This initiative was part of the LCSP’s commitment to promoting health and well-being within the community.
The impactful event was graced by the presence of the esteemed guest of honour, Lions International 2nd Vice District Governor, Datuk Jimmy Tie Hien Hwa. Also in attendance were LCSP president, Tiau Kiu Ung, and past president, Jacqueline Chong, who was the organising chairperson.
WNSSS principal, Lu Yew Hiiung delivered a speech to commemorate the occasion.
Meanwhile, the Youth Peace Poster Contest witnessed Devin Ng Yong Tai emerged as the champion followed by Bridget Lin for the first runner-up and Irene Kiu Kee Hie as the second runner-up.
The other five consolation winners were Ashley Tang Tian Tze, Agnes Lau Ru Tong, Joshua Tang Xin Yew, Christopher Yii Xun Jiang and Sheena Ngu Yue Han.
