KUALA LUMPUR: Dewan Rakyat today conveyed its condolences to the family of  Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub who died on July 23.

Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul also prayed that the soul of the deceased be blessed by Allah SWT and placed among the righteous.

He then invited all members of the house to stand, with the Muslim MPs to recite the surah Al-Fatihah, while the non-Muslims to observe a minute of silence.

He said this before the tabling of the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) Mid-Term Review (MTR), themed ‘Malaysia MADANI: Sustainable, Prosperous, High-Income’, by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Salahuddin, 61, died at Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah in Alor Setar on July 23 after undergoing surgery for a brain haemorrhage the day before. – BERNAMA
