MIRI: Drainage and Irrigation Department Miri has immediately cleared the retention ponds after being requested by Assistant Minister of Tourism, Art and Heritage Datuk Lee Kim Shin.
Lee said, after receiving flash flood report from public, he asked the DID to clear the retention pond.
“I have asked DID to immediately clear the retention ponds. Other short term remedial works will also be carried out,” he told reporters.
He said, two retention ponds had been cleared, namely one in Riam Jaya Eco park and one in Taman Lopeng.
He disclosed, another short term remidial works also will be carried out.
